Our Keynote speaker, Kathy Cantwell, Airplus and GBTA Payment Committee Vice Chair,  will present "Total Cost of Ownership- Your Travel Payment Solution."   Kathy will focus on the importance of corporate cards in a travel program, present data on the cost to a company that does  not managed payment vehicles, the integration of card data with expense and financial systems and provide the latest and greatest on Virtual Cards and how they can benefit a managed travel program.

A panel of your peers will provide insight on "Managing Supplier Relationships for Success."

Keynote Speaker

Kathy Cantwell, Consultant for AirPlus, and GBTA Payment Committee Vice Chair

With over 25 years management in the travel industry, Kathy has expansive knowledge of the technical and operational requirements needed to deliver highly successful travel management programs.  As part of a ‘team that can fit in a single cab’, Kathy was a key member of AirPlus at its infancy for US operations.  Using her prior 15+ years experience as Director of Operations at Sato Travel, Kathy leveraged her knowledge of GDS integration, back office functionality and global TMC operations to successfully grow AirPlus in the US.  As part of the AirPlus executive team, Kathy is committed to see virtual payments be efficient, effective and beneficial in all aspects of travel for corporate customers as well as travelers. 


Randy Griswold, Global Travel Manager - Tupperware Brands

Randy graduated from Ohio State University in Business Management/Business Law, and has been employed by Tupperware Brands since 1999.

Over the last two years, Randy started the implementation of a new Global Travel Program for Tupperware: he introduced a new TMC and implemented in Orlando, BeautiControl-Dallas, and Fuller-Mexico.  He completed his first contracts for global airline, hotel, and car rental suppliers. His goals for the initiative have been to review travel from a procurement perspective, ensure cost reduction, increase online adoption, and add negotiated rates with suppliers.  Europe, Mexico, Brazil and Asia Pacific have since followed.

Chelisa Boyd, First Vice President of Strategic Sourcing - SunTrust Bank

Chelisa Boyd is First Vice President of Strategic Sourcing, and corporate travel commodity manager at SunTrust Bank, headquartered in Atlanta, GA.  Her responsibilities include corporate travel program management, strategy development and execution and supplier contract ownership for agency, hotel, airline, rental car, and ground transportation services.  

Prior to joining SunTrust, Chelisa spent seven years at GE where she served in various roles supporting product management in the private label credit card space including managing client loyalty and recognition programs for consumer, small business and corporate account portfolios. She studied under the Six Sigma discipline, holding positions in process improvement, and subsequently earned her Six Sigma Greenbelt Certification. She has also held card product and loyalty program management roles at HSBC.

Chelisa holds a Bachelor of Science Degree from Fort Valley State University.

Phyllis Tess, Global Account Manager, Business Travel - Best Western Hotels & Resorts

As a Key Global Account Manager for the past 7 years with Best Western Hotels & Resorts, Phyllis manages a global portfolio of Fortune 500 companies. Her reputation as an industry powerhouse among her peers is due in part to her capacity to build long term relationships with top-level executives & working with her clients to achieve their goals through her consultative account management skills. She believes in a ‘client for life’ philosophy and has been instrumental in developing the SOP for Project Business and Global Strategic Partnerships in her current position with Best Western.

An accomplished professional in the Hotel industry for over 26 years having careers with LaQuinta, IHG, Hilton & Red Roof….top awards & recognition are not new to her. 

Even after 26 years in Florida, Phyllis still considers Boston as ‘home’. Wherever she goes Phyllis’ light shines as she is not afraid to be her authentic self and those closest to her know she loves to travel for both business & pleasure…she’s the epitome of the ‘Bleisure Traveler’.  Phyllis currently is a 3 term member of the ACTE US Council and chaired the first Florida Educational Forum as well as worked on the steering committees for many other forums, she served on the Board of the South Florida Business Travel Association for almost a decade, is a Past President of the Hospitality Sales & Marketing Association of South Florida, a Paul Harris recipient with Rotary International and a Life member of Hadassah. She’s the proud mother of 3 sons & known as Mimi to her 5 grandchildren.  A total Foodie & Wine enthusiast, enjoys antique hunting, loves golf, is a die-hard Boston sports fan & believes it’s all about the shoes.   

Juliet Gonya, Corporate Sales Manager - JetBlue Airways

Juliet Gonya currently is the Corporate Sales Manager for the South East Region for JetBlue Airways. Originally from Bristol, England, she moved to the United States 30 years ago and settled in the St. Petersburg area. She graduated from Eckerd College with a BA in International Business, with a minor in Marketing. Her first job out of school was working for a British Airways Holidays in St. Petersburg Beach, so Yes she is partly responsible for all those Brits living in the Tampa Bay area!! So travel was in her blood right from the start of her career! She later moved to Northern Virginia where she worked in Corporate Client Services for Omega World Travel, a regional corporate travel agency in the Mid-Atlantic region. She later moved to Miami and joined Around the World Travel, which later became Travel Leaders Group. After several years in Corporate Account Management, she jumped over to the Airline side of the business and became the SE Regional Manager for Virgin Atlantic Airways. After a few years later, she married, had two children and then became the SE Corporate Sales Manager at JetBlue Airways. Juliet has worked for JetBlue for 7 years. Her territory covers Florida, Georgia all the way up to Richmond, VA.

She has lived in Miami Beach since 1996 with her husband Patrick, daughter, Olivia (15yrs) and Cole (11yrs old).  She loves to travel the world whenever she can, enjoys boating, horse-riding and was been a Girl Scout Troop Leader for six years.

Scott Burgess, Director of Business Rental Sales - Enterprise Holdings

Scott Burgess has been with Enterprise Holdings Inc. for 30 years and the Director of Business Sales for the National and Enterprise Brands in Northeast Florida for the past 14 years.  A Graduate of Florida State University Scott has spent his entire career with the Enterprise Organization.  He has been a part of the BTA here in Northeast Florida  since its  inception and has a uniquely qualified understanding of the current changes in travel and the needs of companies today.
